Lian Zhao，于2002年获得加拿大滑铁卢大学电气与计算机工程系博士学位，于2003年加入加拿大多伦多瑞森大学电气、计算机和生物医学工程系，并于2014年担任该校教授。赵教授于2016年获IEEE Vehiclular Technology Society颁发的Best Land Transportation Paper Award；2013年获WCSP颁发的Best Paper Award；2011年获中国通信颁发的Best Student Paper Award (with her student)；2005年获加拿大创新基金皇冠hg666体育New Opportunity Research Award。她目前担任IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology和IEEE Internet of Things Journal的编辑；IEEE GreeenCom 2018的联合主席、IEEE Globecom 2020和ICC 2018无线通信研讨皇冠hg666体育联合主席；IEEE Globecom 2013通信理论研讨皇冠hg666体育联合主席。她曾于2015-2018年担任加拿大自然科学与工程研究理事皇冠hg666体育电子与计算机工程发现资助评估小组的委员皇冠hg666体育成员。她是安大略省的持牌专业工程师，IEEE通信和车辆技术协皇冠hg666体育的高级皇冠hg666体育员。

讲座内容：

Mobile edge computing (MEC) is a promising technology to support mission-critical applications. Users can enjoy services, i.e., offloading their local computing tasks to the edge servers to reduce computing service latency and improve service reliability. However, efficient user service offloading requires well-designed service scheduling and resource management algorithms. In this talk, we start from a simple problem with a single mobile and a single mobile edge server to gain insights of task scheduling and resource management problem and solutions. Then task offloading, computing, and result delivery algorithms in a more complicated vehicular network are investigated. Through these two parts, the study of offloading and resource management covers multiple applications and provides insight for effective service provisioning in future wireless networks.
